Online Fitness Classes for Folks Over 60
Joe Weaver, age 70
I help men and women over 60 to build the strength, balance and endurance needed to maintain an active life. I understand the older body because I have one. And I've been trained as an Active Aging Specialist.
ABOUT MY CLASSES
Your safety is my first priority.
That's why I limit classes to 10 participants so I can adjust exercises for each person's needs.
We use resistance bands and bodyweight exercises instead of free weights.
We practice special warm up and cool down routines before, during and after each class.
Second priority is having fun.
Because if it's not fun you won't keep doing it. And if you don't keep doing it you won't get results. So, we play our favorite tunes from the 50's, 60's, 70's.
And we joke around a lot! This is not a bootcamp.
Third priority is results!
At our age we need to build and maintain: Strength, Balance, Endurance, Flexibility, and Mobility. Each workout is structured to optimize those needs. We also use a special breathing technique that makes exercise easier and more enjoyable.

Even though I have a couple physical limitations I feel safe, accepted and taken care of during my small group workouts.
I've tried many types of exercise, but have never been able to stick with it. Joe's class has completely revolutionized my feeling about exercise. I would highly recommend it to anybody.

Before starting Joe's program I needed several cups of coffee and a couple anti inflammatories every morning to get going. Now my energy level has skyrocketed, I no longer need those pain killers and I've lost some excess weight.

Joe has an amazing way of getting the most out of me without exhausting me. It's all about the way he works with the breath. Kind of like the yoga breath I used to use, but different and more effective. I also like the way he's able to work around the knee issues I have without hurting them.
I was struggling with my weight. I had no energy or stamina. I found Joe, and I have to tell you, I haven't felt this great in 10 or 15 years. I want you all to check him out cause he's fantastic.

I've enjoyed working with Joe very much. I feel I'm getting stronger. I have more endurance and I've lost 6.5 pounds.
I had some weakness in my right side and my lower body didn't have any strength at all. I hated working out. And when I found Joe's class I decided, wow this is kind of fun. So I kept coming back and now I'm building some strength. I encourage anybody to meet up with Joe and join his class.
I originally came to Joe's class because I couldn't get up off the floor. Now my legs are stronger, my arms are stronger, my posture's better. Combined with doing some intermittent fasting I've lost 15 lbs. We have a lot of fun, we dance, we've made friends. It's been a wonderful experience.

He somehow integrates aerobics, balance, isometrics and weights into a fun 45 minute session —and all to the best rock music!

The years I have trained with Joe have been extremely productive. He really understands how the body “works” in our age group and has helped me to significantly enhance my strength, stamina, and even “spiritual “ calm and well-being via the exercise and dance.
There are SO many things to like about Be Fit After 60! Like my jonts never hurt like they did when using machines and weights; that Joe tells us what each exercise movement is good for which I find highly motivational; it's enjoyable and it works.
I feel better now than I have in a decade.
